Medicinal Propreties acc to Ayurveda:
Rasa : Madhura(sweet),Katu(pungent)Tikta(bitter)
Guna : Laghu(light to digestion),Rooksha(dryness)
Teekshna(piercing,strong,sharp)
Veerya: Hot potency
Effect on Dosha : Balances vata and kapha
Parts used : Stem,Bark,Leaf,Cinnamon leaf.
Dosage
: Powder 1 to 3 gms in divded dose per
day,Cinnamon oil 2 to 5 drops
once or twice a day.
Chemical constituents:
Cinnamaldehyde,Eugenol,Methyl amyl ketone,
Benzaldehyde,Pinene,Phelandrene,Cymene,Linalool,Cumic,Aldehyde etcHeadache:
Make a paste with one teaspoon of dalchini powder by adding require quantity of water,apply this paste on forehead.
Insomnia:Add
1/2 teaspoon of dalchini powder in a cup of water and boil it for 5
minutes.Add some honey for sweetness and drink it twice a day for 10
to 15 days.It helps to induce good sleep.
Cold:
Add some amount of cinnamon powder to ginger tea.It helps to relive cold.
Take 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey twice or thrice daily for one week.
Cold,Cough,Sore throat:
1)Boil cinnamon sticks in water and inhale the vapour.2)Take 1/2 spoon of dalchini powder and 1/2 spoon of black pepper powder in a glass of water and boil it.Finally add honey and drink it.Add honey at warm stage only.
