What is headache:

Head ache is a pain experienced at any region of head,neck.Generally its a body response to physical or emotional stress.

Causative factors:

Cold,sinusities,fever
Stress,
Hereditary,
Eyes strain,
Tobacco smoke,smells from chemicals or perfumes,
Food allergies,
Hormonal imbalance,
Vitamins or mineral imbalance.

Home remedies:

Betel leaves and camphor:

Betel leaves have cooling and analgesic properties.Camphor is commonly use in pain releving ointments.
How to take:
Grind 4 to 5 betel leaves with some water and camphor oil to this mixture.Apply this paste over forehead for 15 to 20 minutes.
Do this process twice or thrice daily for three to five days for better results.
If you find any skin allergies stop applying it and consult your nearest ayurvedic physician.

Coffee:

It contains caffeine, acts like a vaso constrictor.Which helps to allevate pain naturally.
So take a cup of coffee to treat bad headache.
Don't try to take repeatedly.It has diuretic properties.It may lead to dehydration.

Basil and honey tea:

Add some basil leaves in a cup of boiling water.Let them soak for few minutes after that strain the decoction.Add few drops of lemon juice and 1tea spoon of honey.Drink this tea for three times daily for three days.

Cardamom:

Make a paste with cardamom.Apply this paste over forehead leave it for 1/2 hour.Cardamom paste is helps to give instant relief from pain.Do this process twice daily daily for three days.

Ginger:

1)Make a paste with ginger powder and 2 table spoon of water.Apply this powder over fore head.
2)Mix equal quantity of ginger juice and lemon juice.Drink this only once in a day.It helps to get relief from headache.

Black pepper:

Boil a glass of milk and add 1/4 tea spoon of black pepper.Leave it for few minutes.let it be cool down.Now drink this milk.Helps to relieve headache from cold.Do this process for twice daily for three days.If you find any burning sensation in abdomen stop to drink it.

Peppermint oil:

It contains menthol, which gives smoothing and calming effects to the skin.
So it is one of the good choice to treat head ache naturally at home.
Take a tea spoon of coconut oil and two to three drops of peppermint oil mix it well and apply over forehead.Do this process twice or thrice daily for three days.

Basil oil:

Basil oil helps to treat headaches by relieving the pressure on the head muscles and relaxing them.
Add two drops of basil oil with one tea spoon of coconut oil mix it well and apply over forehead.Leave it for couple of hours.If you persist pain again.Do the same process trice daily for three to five days.

Eucalyptus essential oil:

This oil has pain releving,anti inflammatory,expectorant properties in it.
Add five to six drops of Eucalyptus oil in a bowl of hot water mix it well.Now inhale this vapor for five minutes by covering your head,neck,shoulder with bed sheet.Do this process twice daily for two days to three days.

Green tea:

Steep the green tea bag in a cup of boiling water for few minutes.Add few drops of lemon juice and one tea spoon of honey for taste.Drink this while hot to get instant relief from headache.Do this
process daily once or twice daily.

Ginger root tea:

Crush the ginger root boil it in a glass of water for few minutes to get decoction. Now strain the decoction. Drink it once or twice in a day.

Lemon:

It has anti inflammatory,analgesic and refresing properties.So it will helps to get rid of headache.
what to do:
Make a paste with lemon crust by adding some water to it.Now apply this paste over forehead for fifteen to twenty minutes.
Another tip is cut the fresh lemon and rub it over forehead to get releave from headache.

TURMERIC:
Asthma:
Add 1tsp of turmeric powder in a glass of milk and boil it.Drink it twice daily for 1 week to 10 days.

Cardomom:

Common Cold:
Cardamom (Elaichi) plays a supportive role in management of common cold. It reduces stuffy nose, throatitching, congestion, cough, headache and fatigue that occur due to common cold. The following decoction formulation is highly beneficial for quick relief from common cold.
Cardamom Seed
Black Pepper (Kali Mirch)
Cinnamon (Dalchini)
Ginger
Coriander seeds all are in equal quantites
1 teaspoon of this mixture should be added in one glass of water. Boil and then simmer this mixture until liquid remains around 50 to 60 ml. This decoction should be taken thrice daily.

Cough:
Cardamom (Elaichi) seeds have antitussive and mucolytic properties, so it is an important ingredient in Sitopaladi Churna, which is commonly used for all types of cough.
In productive cough, Elaichi seeds can also be taken with cinnamon, Pushkarmool (Inula Racemosa) and honey.
The proportion of these herbs should be as follows:
Cardamom Seed 1 grams
Cinnamon 500 mg
Pushkarmool (Inula Racemosa) 250 mg
Honey 1  tsp.
This mixture can be taken thrice a day for 5 to 10 days. This mixture clears lungs and provides relief from productive cough

Aloevera:

Cough: 
For wet cough and phlegm, mix 1 spoon of aloevera juice with 1 spoon honey, 1/4th spoon dry ginger powder, 1/4th spoon black pepper powder and consume.

Black pepper:

Running nose and cough:
1)Add 3 to 4 leaves of tulasi and One or two pinches of peper powder in boiled milk. Drink this formula for two to three times in a day.
2)Black pepper mixed with home-made butter and sugar given to children is helps to improve digestion and gives relief from cough and cold.

Cold and fever.:
Prepare tea with 4-5 Black peppers, 8-10 Holi Basil leaves, 2-3 cloves, one piece of Ginger and 1-2 cardamoms in a glass of water and boil it.This tea helps to cure cold and fever.

Cough:
This powder is most effective in Cough problems. Take one teaspoon of honey and 2 pinch of black pepper powder mix it well.Lick this paste 3 to 4 times a day.

Asthama :
For asthama make decoction with black pepper, tulsi leaves, dry ginger, long pepper, clove and pomegranate peel and drink it .Dosage 20 to 25 ml twice or thrice daily.

Cough with expectoration and dyspnoea:
Black pepper with sugar and warm ghee gives relief in cough with expectoration and dyspnoea.

Respiratory disorders:
For respiratory disorders add one tsp of black pepper powder in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it twice daily.

Cinnamon:

Cold:
Add some amount of cinnamon powder to ginger tea.It helps to relive cold.
Take 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey twice or thrice daily for one week.

Cold,Cough,Sore throat:
1)Boil cinnamon sticks in water and inhale the vapour.

2)Take 1/2 spoon of dalchini powder and 1/2 spoon of black pepper powder in a glass of water and boil it.Finally add honey and drink it.Add honey at warm stage only.

Cough:
Take 1/2 teaspoon of ginger,1/4 teaspoon of cloves powder and some amount of Dalchni powderin a glass of water and boil it for some time.Take this decoction twice or thrice a day.

Bad breath:
Add 1 tsp of cinnamon powder in a glass of water mix it well.Gargle with this solution twice a day to reduce bad smell from mouth

Cloves:

Cough : 
Make cloves powder and for 10 gms of it add 3 gms candy sugar powder, 5 gms honey, 10 gms butter and consume daily in morning and night.

Whooping cough:
Roast 3-4 cloves in fire and then grind them.
Give this powder with honey to the patient.
It cures whooping-cough in the practice of few doses itself.

Expectorant:
Take 2 gm powder of cloves and boil it in 125 ml of water till the water is reduced to 1/4th.
Strain the solution and give this to the patient to be drunk.
It dilutes the phlegm and helps it easy release.
Clove in very beneficial in such disorders.

TURMERIC:

For easy digestion and constipation:

Take turmeric powder and black salt in equal quantities,mix it in warm water.Consume it after meals twice daily for 7 to 10 Days.

CARDOMOM:
Indigestion:
 1)Take a two to three pods of cardamom, a small piece of ginger, 2- 3 cloves and few dhania (coriander) seeds.
 Grind them well and consume it with warm water. It acts as an instant remedy for indigestion, bloating and gasDyspepsia & Heartburn
Cardamom gives relief from heartburn and dyspepsia (indigestion). It improves appetite and
 promotes good digestion of food. For this purpose, cardamom tea is highly beneficial. 3 grams cardamom pods should be crushed and added in 200 ml water, simmer it and when it reduces to 50 ml, then tea should be taken


2)To relieve from headache caused by indigestion, drink the Elaichi tea to get rid of the problem.

3)Mix 1 teaspoon each of Elaichi and Fennel seeds. Crush them and add 1/4 teaspoon of the
 resultant powder in a cup of water. Drink this water 2 times in a day after having meals.


CLOVES:
Indigestion:

   1)Take 10 gm solid powder of cloves and put in 1/2 litre of boiling water.
      Cover it and strain the solution after 1/2 hour.
     Give 25-50 ml of this water to the patient; twice to thrice a day.
     It cures indigestion and also strengthens the digestive system.


  2)  Lavanga and Pathya are taken in equal quantities
    They are pounded individually to get their coarse powder
    The coarse powder of each is measured and adjusted so as to get equal quantity
    Take 16 times their quantity of water (16 times volume of both drugs mixed together)
    Heat on moderate flame until ¼ water remains
    Filter and separate the coarse part
    Sprinkle Saindhava Lavana
    Serve Hot

Dose:

    40-50ml


Ginger:

This is also one of the best remedy for indigestion.
1)Add a two table spoon of ginger juice,one spoon of lemon juice,pinch of black salt and pinch of table salt.Mix them thoroughly and consume with water after food twice daily.

2)Take a cup of warm water add two tablespoon of ginger juice,one teaspoon of honey mix it well and drink it.
3)Home made ginger tea is also helps to cure indigestion,bloating,cramps,gas and stomach aches.
To make ginger tea boil a cup of water for five to ten minutes by adding a teaspoon of ginger pieces.


BASIL LEAVES:

According to ayurveda this is also one of the best remedy to increase digestion power.Grind the leaves  and extract the juice.Drink it 25 to 30 ml thrice daily before food for 10 days.


Carom seeds:

It contains carminative and digestive properties.So its helps to treat indigestion and flatulence.

How to make remedy:
Ingredients:
1/2 tea spoon of carom seeds,
Some dried ginger slices,
1/2 tea spoon of black pepper,
1 cup of luke warm water.

Make a fine powder with carom seeds and Dried ginger slices by grinding them.Then add 1/2 tea spoon of black pepper powder to it mix it well.Stir this mixture in a glass of warm water.Now drink this once or twice daily for five days.


Peppermint:

Consuming Peppermint tea helps to cure indigestion naturally at home.

Remedy:

You simply dip a peppermint herbal tea bag into 1 cup of hot water.
You allow it to steep for about 5 minutes.
Then you drink this tea when it is still warm.

Black pepper,garlic and cumin seeds:

Take some ground garlic leaves in water and boil it for some time.After some time add one teaspoon of black pepper and one teaspoon of cumin seeds.Let it boil for a few minutes.Now strain this mixture and let it be cool down.Drink this decoction 20 to 25ml daily for twice or thrice in a day.For better results continue this remedy for five to one week.Don't forget to consume this decoction after food.If you feel any discomfort or burning sensation in abdomen Just stop it and consult you nearest ayurvedic expert for further management.

Pomegranate juice and honey:

This is one of the best home remedy to treat who are suffering with indigestion and giddiness.
Take two table spoon of pomegranate juice and one table spoon of honey mix it well.Now drink this mixure daily for two times before food.Continue this for five to one week for better results.

Ginger juice and honey:

Take two tea spoon of Ginger juice and one teaspoon of honey mix it well.Drink it twice daily for five to one week.

Ginger decoction: 

This decoction helps to cure indigestion.If you feel any burning sensation in abdomen just leave it.

What is constipation:

If a person have fewer than three bowel movements in a week,stool may harden and become difficult or even painful to pass is considered as constipation.
Causative factors:
Low fluid intake
Lack fiber in diet
Lack of physical activity
Frequently using laxatives or using enemas
Travelling long distances frequantly
Medications such as Antidepressants,painkillers,certain antacids,anti convulsants,antispasmodics,Parkinsons disease drugs ccb etc may lead to constipation.
Ignoring the urge to go
GI tract problems such as irritable bowel syndrome,tumors,celiec diseases,colon polyps and other obstruction
Diseases such as diabetes,hypothyroidism,multiple sclerosis etc.

Home remedies:

Turmeric:

Take turmeric powder and black salt in equal quantities,mix it in warm water.Consume it after meals twice daily for 7 to 10 Days.

Aloe vera:

Daily morning and evening, consuming of 2 tsp aloe vera gel on empty stomach will remove long term Constipation.Daily morning and evening, consuming of 2 tsp aloe vera gel on empty stomach will remove long term Constipation.

Triphala:

Take one teaspoon of triphala powder in a glass of warm water mix  it well and consume it daily before going to bed.
Take equal quantity of tamarind and amaltas fruit and soak it for overnight.Next day morning mash it and filter it.Drink 10 to 20 ml morning and evening.
This is also one of the best Ayurvedic remedy.

Coconut oil:

Try to increase the intake quantity of coconut oil in food.It helps to relieve constipation naturally.

Warm milk with Ghee:

Add 5 ml of cow ghee and required quantity of sugar in a glass of milk mix it well.Drink it before going to bed.Do this process Daily for 10 to 15 Days.

Spinach:

Prepare juice with Spinach and drink it before going to bed.

Castor oil:

Add 10 ml of castor oil in a glass of warm milk and drink it in empty stomach.Helps to relieve constipation naturally at home.Increase or decrease the quantity of castor oil as per result.Do this process twice or thrice in a week for better result.

Figs:

Boil figs in a glass of milk,drink it at night  before going to bed.Make sure the mixture is warm when you drink it.Continue it for 15 to 20 days for best results.

Raisins(Kishmish):

Soak handfull of Raisins in water overnight. Have them first thing in the morning on empty stomach.
Pregnant womens can also take this remedy.

Apples

Apples are rich in fiber. In fact, one medium-sized apple with the skin on (about 182 grams) contains 4.4 grams of fiber,which is 17% of the recommended daily intake.
Approximately 2.8 grams of that fiber is insoluble, while 1.2 grams is soluble fiber, mostly in the form of the dietary fiber called pectin.In the gut, pectin is rapidly fermented by bacteria to form short-chain fatty acids, which pull water into the colon,
softening the stool and decreasing gut transit time.
One study in 80 people with constipation found that pectin can accelerate the movement of the stool through the intestines, improve symptoms of constipation and increase the number of beneficial bacteria in the gut.Another study found that rats fed a diet of apple fiber had increased stool frequency and weight, despite being given morphine, which causes constipation.
Apples are an easy way to boost the fiber content of your diet and alleviate constipation. You can eat them whole, juiced or in salads or baked goods.
Granny Smith apples have a particularly high fiber content.

Water:

Try to drink plenty of water which helps to relieve constipation naturally.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek is more traditionally known as a cooking herb but the seeds are also known to be great at helping to settle the stomach and relieve constipation.
Fenugreek is also a good source of fibre and contains key vitamins and minerals.
Rather than buy it in supplement form, it is always best to consume foods in their natural state so look to start adding fenugreek to soups,
casseroles and curries for their full benefits and constipation-relieving effects at the same time.
 

What happens if we ignore constipation:

It leads to Hemorrhoids,
Anal fissure,
Rectal prolapse.
